Lilley Cornett Woods is a Kentucky gem. It is a beautiful, old growth forest (meaning that the land hasn’t been touched by man for 150 years) that spans for 554 acres. These woods are a hub for ecological research due to its incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna. According to Eastern Kentucky University, “There are over 530 species of flowering plants and an estimated 700 breeding pairs of birds present. In addition, a variety of small mammals, amphibians and reptiles call Lilley Cornett Woods home.”
