Steve Poynter

Steve Poynter, a native of Richmond Kentucky, began exploring the wildlands of Kentucky in late 2021 as things in life got stressful, He begun to use hiking and nature as an outlet to help with all things and once he began exploring, it became addictive as he was blown away with what nature had to offer. Each, week he tries to get out and dive deep into different parts of Kentucky to see what gems are just a drive or walk away.
As he sets out on each trek, Steve captures photographs and videos of these gems for the rest of Kentucky to see as he knows not everyone can get out and enjoy nature. This is why he loves what The Kentucky Wildlands is doing for the community, becoming a one stop shop for all things Kentucky, including hiking trails, events around the area, state parks offerings and beyond. Steve is really looking forward to and honored to be associated with The Kentucky Wildlands and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together for the communities.
